LABORATORY

The laboratory supports all other departments to test and store samples where necessary. It handles both research and clinical management requests.
The laboratory also trains and regularly supervises field staff to ensure proper sample collection and handling.
The lab has several sections including;

This is the section where Cobas C111is used for Liver and Renal functional tests, lipids and electrolytes.

The sample archival system uses freezer works for entry and location of sample positions and they are more than thirty -80°C freezers where samples are kept for longer periods.

Here, we mainly handle HIV viral load testing using the Abbott m 2000 sample processor and analyzer which can also be used to detect other viruses like HBV, HSV etc. This section has the capacity to carry out specific research protocols like harvesting DNA and buffy coats for further analyses when requested.

This is the section where any ELISA tests are done, these include for HIV, HBV, HSV and any other as the need may be.
