Robert Ssekubugu
Robert is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in social work, public health research, and surveillance methodology. With over 15 years of service within the Rakai Health Sciences Program, he has demonstrated a commitment to improving community health outcomes in the greater Rakai region. For the past seven years, Robert has served as the coordinator for the Rakai Community Cohort Study (RCCS), a longstanding community-based surveillance program spanning over three decades.
In this role, he has overseen the implementation of various research activities, ensuring the collection of high-quality data vital for understanding and addressing public health challenges within the community.
Robert's expertise in surveillance methodology has been instrumental
in shaping the strategies and protocols employed within the RCCS, facilitating
the generation of valuable insights into disease trends, risk factors, and
health behaviors among the population. Robert is a doctoral candidate of
Global Health Research. His PhD focus is in the areas of survey methodologies
in which he evaluates the use of data collection technologies (Cell Phones),
and survey response timing (evaluating the effect of late respondents on survey
measurement in the context of HIV research).
